Reporting in your state

Every state has its own cyber cell. Two national routes work everywhere, and you should use them first.

That second point is the one people miss: the national portal already sends your complaint to your state’s cyber cell. You do not need to find your state cell in order to report. Going direct is useful for following up, not for filing.

Your state’s own cyber cell

How to find yours safely, in the meantime

  1. Start at cybercrime.gov.in, typed by hand. It links to state resources from inside a site you can trust.
  2. Or call 1930 and ask them to direct you. That is faster than searching, and it comes from the people who route these complaints.
  3. Your state police website will end in .gov.in. If it does not, it is not the police.
